A Catskill police officer pulled Hernandez over in February 2020, allegedly for having a loud exhaust, according to the immigrant advocacy group Columbia County Sanctuary Movement. Questions from police about his car turned into questions about his immigration status, and when the officer suspected Hernandez was undocumented, he took him to the station in handcuffs, holding him until U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrived to detain him.

Interagency cooperation results in Cohoes drug arrests

COHOES, N.Y. — The Cohoes Police Department in conjunction with the New York State Police and United States Drug Enforcement Administration simultaneously executed search warrants at three locations in the Spindle City. The focus of the search warrants stems from months-long probes into drug sales and distribution from the three targeted residences. On Thursday, Jan. 28, at approximately 8 p.m. the aforementioned law enforcement agencies executed search warrants at 101 Congress Street Apt. 1R, 19 Newark Street, and 153 Main Street Apt. 3. The search warrants resulted in 10 arrests, the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, 13 grams of crack cocaine, 20 grams of suspected fentanyl, and $9,183. Details of the arrests are as follows:

Troopers: Victims in Schodack double murder-suicide identified; State police also ID killer | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS   State police Friday identified both victims in this week’s double murder-suicide, as well the man they say was the shooter, who then killed himself. Manjeet Kaur, 55, and Jasleen Kaur, 14, were both shot and killed during a domestic incident at their residence at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, state police said. The man investigators say killed them, Bhupinder Singh, 57, also a resident of the home, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three were found inside the home, police said. A fourth resident, Rashpal Kaur, 40, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, but was able to flee the residence, state police said. She was being treated at Albany Medical Center for wounds described as non-life-threatening.

Harrison, 46, was charged after new information developed in the case involving sexual abuse of a child in Schodack. Harrision was charged with three counts of sexual abuse, two counts each of predatory sexual assault against a child and criminal sex act, as well as felony rape and several misdemeanors for incidents that occurred between April 1, 2018 and May 30, 2018, the sheriff’s office said. Harrison, who was out on bail for related charges in both Rensselaer and Columbia counties, was arraigned in Schodack town court on Monday. He was sent to Rensselaer county jail on $50,000 bail.
