A State Department spokesperson revealed to Reuters that the administration will sell weapons - including armed drones and advanced F-35 aircraft - to the UAE even as we continue reviewing details and consulting with Emirati officials on where and how the weapons will be used. The sales will include weaponry from several leading arms manufacturers, including Lockheed Martin Corp, General Atomics and Raytheon Technologies Corp. In the $23.37 billion sale, there will be 50 F-35 Lightning II aircraft, 18 MQ-9B Unmanned Aerial Systems and air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions. The deal between Washington and Abu Dhabi was brokered by the Trump administration as part of the so-called Abraham Accords - under former US President Donald Trump - which saw Israel and the UAE normalise relations.
