The US will proceed to sell more than $23bn worth of arms to the United Arab Emirates after pausing deals agreed with the previous administration in order to conduct a review of the sale.
A State Department spokesperson on Tuesday said the Biden administration would proceed to sell arms to the UAE as it continues to review details and consult with Emirati officials on the use of the weapons.

A State Department spokesperson said the administration would move forward with the proposed sales to the UAE, “even as we continue reviewing details and consulting with Emirati officials” related to the use of the weapons.

Reuters that the administration will sell weapons - including armed drones and advanced F-35 aircraft - to the UAE even as we continue reviewing details and consulting with Emirati officials on where and how the weapons will be used.
The sales will include weaponry from several leading arms manufacturers, including Lockheed Martin Corp, General Atomics and Raytheon Technologies Corp.
In the $23.37 billion sale, there will be 50 F-35 Lightning II aircraft, 18 MQ-9B Unmanned Aerial Systems and air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions.
The deal between Washington and Abu Dhabi was brokered by the Trump administration as part of the so-called Abraham Accords - under former US President Donald Trump - which saw Israel and the UAE normalise relations.
