Reconciliation Awards celebrate unique partnerships and influential initiatives

JOINT STATEMENT Outstanding initiatives driving reconciliation have been recognised in the 2021 Queensland Reconciliation Awards presented tonight in Townsville. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said all winners and finalists had demonstrated reconciliation in action. “This year, the Queensland Reconciliation Awards have honoured initiatives which have enhanced cultural awareness and understanding and improved the experiences of First Nations people at school, at work and in the community,” the Premier said. “The winners of the Premier’s Reconciliation Award and joint winners in the Partnership category, the Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation and Rainforest 4 Foundation have formed a unique partnership – the only formalised, non-Government program which purchases land for conservation to be owned and managed by its Traditional Owners.

A collaboration with a cause: The Hachetbury partners with Azazus to fundraise for Ronald Mcdonald House Charities

Alachua County’s first ax-throwing venue teamed up with local musician Azazus to create a song titled “Best Damn Moment.” Azazus will perform the single live at The Hatchetbury’s fundraising event on June 16. All proceeds will go toward supporting the families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida, a nonprofit charity organization that helps house the families of critically ill children at Shands Hospital.

Motor Vu Drive-In to open Friday IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Following major renovations and upgrades, the Motor Vu Drive-In is officially reopening for the 2021 summer season on Friday with a double-feature on Idaho’s largest movie screen. During the off-season, the Motor Vu underwent the most extensive renovations in its history to upgrade the facilities and improve movie and sound quality. The projector room, which has held every projector since the Motor Vu’s opening in 1947, was redone, and sound processors and transmitters have been upgraded. The most dramatic upgrade is the new 4K laser projector which creates a crisp, clear picture on the Motor Vu’s 108 foot screen, one of the largest screens in the United States.
