Local Organization Donates Quilts To Ronald McDonald House Northland
The plan is to make quilts all year long to give back and bring comfort to the children at the Ronald McDonald House.

Every year, the Northern Lights Machine Quilters Guild gives back to a local organization.
“Quilts are made with love one stitch at a time,” said Helen Smith Stone, the founding president of NLMCQG.
This year, it was suggested the group of 70 make quilts for the new Ronald McDonald House.
“It seemed like a good match for us to do something that would be worthwhile and bring comfort to the children that are going to be staying here,” said Smith Stone.
Shamrock Shakes Raising Money for Ronald McDonald House Duluth
From March 7 to March 17, when you buy a shamrock shake at McDonald s, 25 cents of every shake will go to Ronald McDonald House Duluth.
The minty-flavored Shamrock Shakes are back at local McDonald’s restaurants, and during designated days in March, it will benefit the new Ronald McDonald House in Duluth. Participating McDonald s in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ironwood, Michigan will donate 25 cents of each Shamrock Shake. Minneapolis, Rochester, and Duluth Charities will benefit.
The Ronald McDonald House Northland is located on the fourth floor of Essentia Health s Fifth Avenue Building. The Ronald McDonald House gives people a place to stay when their child is being treated for something major where they have to be in town for a substantial amount of time. DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – A virtual Grand Opening was held on Wednesday for the area’s first Ronald McDonald House.
Located at Essentia Health, Ronald McDonald House Northland will provide support for the families of pediatric patients at no cost.
The space in the Fifth Avenue Building features five private bedrooms, a full kitchen, family room, laundry and fully stocked pantry.

Despite some delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Northland s first Ronald McDonald House is set to open near the end of January in Duluth.
Construction started in July on the Ronald McDonald House Northland on the fourth floor of Essentia Health s Fifth Avenue Building, 503 E. Third St., after years of conversations. The space was expected to open this fall, but was delayed due to the pandemic.
