A barricaded gunman situation in Rochester Hills came to a close the morning of May 6.
At around 8:15 a.m. May 6, Rochester Community Schools Superintendent Robert Shaner sent an email to parents saying that the district was notified of a situation that occurred earlier in the morning near Hart Middle School and Stoney Creek High School involving a barricaded gunman. The incident was reportedly related to a domestic dispute.
“Law enforcement were on the scene, and the situation has ended,” Shaner said in the email.
Shaner said the safety of the school community is always the district’s top priority.
