State Sen. George Borrello, R-Sunset Bay, speaks on behalf of the Sgt. David Lockwood Memorial Bridge in the state Senate on Thursday.
RANDOLPH A bridge over Interstate 86 in Randolph may soon be renamed the Sgt. David Lockwood Memorial Bridge.
The state Senate last week passed S.1752, introduced by state Sen. George Borrello. The Assembly has yet to take up companion legislation.
“I’d like to start off by thanking the leadership, both Republican and Democrat, for bringing this bill forward,” Borrello said on the Senate floor. “I think we can all agree that taking landmarks like highways and dedicating them to our heroes that have served our country so bravely is a noble effort and I thank everyone for bringing this bill here today.”

North Shore Arts Alliance works on behalf of artists in Chautauqua County. The organization is home to artists representing painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fiber arts, wood, and mixed media.
Our signature event is the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail, though we help create and promote a variety of arts-related events. This year, the Hub Crawl will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30.

Ipp’s practice is not limited to photography and industrial design. The self-taught photographer – who also happens to be Wolfgang Tillmans’ assistant – has worked across a wide range of creative disciplines. This made him an ideal match for our shoot with Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, who allowed us behind the scenes as her solo show at Berlin’s Gropius Bau came together.
