The Rhode Island Department of Health on Friday reported two coronavirus-related deaths and 193 additional cases of COVID-19.  Of the 193 additional cases, 182 were people who tested positive for the first time on Thursday, and 11 were people who tested positive for the first time on previous days. That brings the total toll in Rhode Island to 2,687 deaths and 149,577 known cases.  Rhode Island has reported an average of 199 new coronavirus cases a day over the last seven days (18.1 cases per 100,000 people per day), down from 266 cases a day a week ago and 311 cases a day two weeks ago.

It said 182 new cases were identified for the first time on Thursday, and the rest were added to previous days totals. Thursday s positivity rate was 1.3%. The state said 113 people with COVID-19 were being treated in hospitals, with 23 in the ICU and 18 on ventilators. Department of Health data show 584,379 people are considered at least partially vaccinated and that 433,399 people are fully vaccinated. Rhode Island has recorded 149,577 coronavirus cases and 2,687 deaths since the pandemic began.

RI COVID numbers: 1 death, 268 additional cases

Journal Staff The Rhode Island Department of Health on Wednesday reported one coronavirus-related death and 268 additional cases of COVID-19.  Of the 268 additional cases, 252 were people who tested positive for the first time on Tuesday, and 16 were people who tested positive for the first time on previous days.  That brings the total toll in Rhode Island to 2,682 deaths and 149,197 known cases.  The Health Department reported another 10,014 coronavirus vaccine doses were administered; 405,389 people (36.9% of the state s population) are fully vaccinated and 558,551 people (50.9% of the population) are at least partially vaccinated.  There were 125 COVID-positive patients in Rhode Island hospitals at last count, on Monday, down from 129 reported yesterday. Twenty-three were in intensive care; 17 were on ventilators.
