This year s Welwyn Drama Festival will go on – with an online version being staged in May.
When the 86th Welwyn Drama Festival was cancelled last year following the COVID-related closure of the Barn Theatre in Welwyn Garden City, nobody imagined that the shutdown would still be in force in May 2021.

A sacked Western Power employee has been fined $10,000 for giving a friend a significant competitive advantage by corruptly providing him with quotes for work from rival companies.

Judge John Staude said the offences were a breach of trust
Rodney George Pearson, 59, pleaded guilty to two corruption charges arising from his work as the vehicle fleet co-ordinator at Western Power in 2018.
He sent his friend, who had a vehicle body building company, three emails detailing quotes that Western Power had received from the two other companies.
