Romeo ready to cheer on Rachel Mac in live finale of The Voice
ROMEO, Mich. – Driving down the main streets in Romeo and you’ll see signs that read “Let’s go Rachel Mac.”
The 16-year-old Romeo High School student is putting the town on the map as a contestant on “The Voice,” and they couldn’t be more excited for her.
“It’s up all over town at restaurants, local restaurants, fast food places. All you see is all about Rachel Mac,” said Amber Fountain, guidance counselor at Romeo High.

Rachel Mac, a high school student from Romeo, Michigan, secured her spot in the finals on Tuesday night. Mac, who is 16 and a sophomore at Romeo High School, racked up high points with her rendition of Human by Christina Perri.
The young singer, who is a member of Nick Jonas on the show, has continued to wow the judges all season long and is the only member of Team Jonas in the final 5. Mac has been open about her battles with depression and has used her time on

Mac, a 10th grader at Romeo High School, was named a top vote-getter during Tuesday s results show to secure one of five spots in next week s finale. Nine singers performed Monday but viewers decided which five would make to the end.
Mac sang a rocking version of Christina Perri s Human in Monday s semifinal. Before her performance, Mac said she s struggled with depression in the past and wanted others to know they could get through it as she had. I just want you to know no matter what you re feeling or going through, your emotions are real and valid but they don t define you, said Mac. And you will get through it. And that s coming from someone that got through it.
