CML Microcircuits unveils new range of RFICS and MMICs

CML Microcircuits unveils new range of RFICS and MMICs CML Microcircuits has released SµRF, a new range of high frequency, high bandwidth RFICS and MMICs targeting RF and mmWave applications. With the global demand for faster downloads and more data driving up bandwidths up, moving to GHz frequencies is the only way to deliver wider pipelines to the handset, desk, home and office. RF design in the GHz band is challenging, however, even for specialist companies with experienced engineering teams. The SµRF ‘Semiconductor Microwave RF’ range will address this by democratising mmWave design, with easy-to-use unique solutions in standard IC packaging.

ST looks to simplify portable GNSS receivers

ST looks to simplify portable GNSS receivers STMicroelectronics’ BPF8089-01SC6 RF front-end for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers integrates the impedance-matching and electrostatic-discharge (ESD) protection circuitry typically implemented using discrete components. The BPF8089-01SC6 provides a 50Ω matched interface between the receiver’s antenna and low-noise amplifier (LNA), and is ready to plug-and-play with ST’s STA8089 and STA8090 LNAs. This compact, integrated device typically replaces a matching network containing up to five capacitors, resistors, and inductors, as well as two discrete protection devices, resulting in a much smaller footprint. Designers can also leverage PCB-track specifications provided in the device datasheet to ease design challenges and ensure optimal performance.

Renesas expands RF portfolio

Renesas expands RF portfolio Renesas Electronics has extended its RF portfolio for traditional macro base transceiver stations (BTS) with four new high-reliability, high-performance devices, offering customers access to a complete RF signal chain solution. This expansion includes the industry’s first quad-channel F4482/1 TX variable gain amplifiers (VGA) and the F011x family of dual-channel first-stage low noise amplifiers (LNA). The new device set also includes the F1471 RF driver amplifier – the first high-power pre-driver with P1dB of over 1/2W – and the F2934 RF switch with higher isolation in a smaller package for digital predistortion (DPD) feedback path. The expanded RF lineup delivers the high performance, high reliability, flexibility, and smaller form factor demanded by 5G Macro BTS systems.
