ICCI, RDA sign MoU to set up industrial estate Islamabad December 29, 2020 Islamabad:The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework of cooperation between the two organisations. Under the MoU both the organisations will carry out joint efforts for establishment of an industrial estate alongside the Rawalpindi Ring Road (R3) project on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, to be known as the “ICCI Islamabad Industrial Estate.” ICCI president Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and CDA Chairman Raja Tariq Mehmood signed the MoU at a ceremony held here on Monday.

Three parking plazas to be built Islamabad December 24, 2020 Rawalpindi : Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (r) Muhammad Mehmood has said that three more commercial parking plazas in busy commercial areas of the city would be constructed under Public-Private Partnership, while RDA parking plaza would be expanded to solve traffic problems. He said that new commercial parking plazas would be constructed in Bani Market, Old Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation office and Commercial Market which would be seven storey while three storeys would be added in the already constructed parking plaza of Rawalpindi Development Authority. He said that apart from parking of vehicles and motorcycles in these plazas, shops, hotels and warehouses have also been planned.

RDA to review list of housing societies Islamabad December 23, 2020 Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to review the list of legal and illegal housing societies to protect the investment of citizens. The decision has been taken because several housing societies are not practically on the ground. The civic body will involve revenue, local government, district council, and other departments to protect the money of common citizens who have or want to invest in private housing schemes. Prime Minister Imran Khan also wants to streamline the process of private housing societies where the public has invested heavily. Thousands of people have settled in illegal private housing societies and have to face difficulties in getting No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from RDA for installation of utility services life sui gas, electricity, and water connections in their houses.
