The United Utah Party got a fellow centrist removed from Congress. One of its candidates (Jonia Broderick) took more than enough votes that Rep. Ben McAdams needed to keep his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Broderick took 8,037 votes. McAdams lost by just 3,765 votes to Burgess Owens, according to electionresults.utah.gov. Meanwhile, the United Utah Party didn’t win any seats at any level of government.
The party was only harmful this most recent election cycle and only hurt the cause of political centrism, a cause it champions as much as any.
