The next venue of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship has been a happy hunting ground for Mark Winterbottom.
No active driver has more wins at Winton Motor Raceway than Winterbottom, whose four victories are matched by Jamie Whincup.
Whincup and Red Bull Ampol Racing don’t have an affinity with the rural Victorian circuit; he hasn’t won there since 2012, and the team since 2017 through Shane van Gisbergen.

Winterbottom scored poles at Winton in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012, but had to wait until 2013 to win his first race at the circuit.

Scott McLaughlin has ticked off another IndyCar Series career-first, with the three-time Supercars champion making it through to the Fast Six for the first time.
Team Penske driver McLaughlin will start the Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from the third row.
The New Zealander managed to score a career-best fifth in qualifying in only his fourth IndyCar qualifying session on a non-oval.
It comes in a season McLaughlin has made rapid gains in his maiden full-time IndyCar campaign; notably, he scored a podium on his oval debut in Texas.

Andre Heimgartner has claimed a second career pole in a major boilover at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Heimgartner was the defining runner in wet conditions, with the Kelly Grove Racing driver scoring his second career pole.
It opens the door for Heimgartner to end his 160-race wait for victory, having claimed a podium at The Bend last September.
Chaz Mostert, who won the last race at Symmons Plains, was two tenths adrift of Heimgartner’s 2:07.856s, with Erebus Motorsport rookie Will Brown scoring a career-best third in the session.
Wildcard Kostecki keen to lean on established WAU Repco Supercars Championship By James Pavey
Being able to lean on two champion drivers and a champion team has Kurt Kostecki ready to maximise his three wildcard appearances for Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Kostecki will line up in a third WAU entry at this weekend’s OTR SuperSprint as part of a three-event wildcard campaign.
The 2019 Super2 runner-up will join 2020 Super2 champion Thomas Randle in an expanded 26-car grid for the Tailem Bend, Darwin and Perth events.
This weekend marks Kostecki’s first main game start since last October’s Bathurst 1000.
Kostecki, whose brother Jake and cousin Brodie will also be on the grid, made his full-time main game debut aboard a Kostecki Brothers Racing entry at the 2018 Tailem Bend and Ipswich events.

Scott McLaughlin has backed up his maiden IndyCar podium with another top 10 finish at Texas Motor Speedway.
The race, which was won by Arrow McLaren SP’s Pato O’Ward, featured a six-car shunt which eliminated some series hopefuls.

It marked O’Ward’s maiden IndyCar win, with the Mexican driver passing McLaughlin’s Team Penske teammate and two-time series champion Josef Newgarden with 24 laps remaining in the 248-lap race.
Dixon kept the series points lead, with O’Ward jumping to second in the standings, 22 points behind.
