LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - For the first time since March of 2020 businesses in Texas will be allowed to fully re-open.
Gov. Gregg Abbott’s executive ordered, announced March 2, goes into effect today. Now all businesses in the state can fully-open and face masks are no longer mandated in public.
However, business owners still have the option to limit capacity inside establishments and require patrons to wear masks.

Randall Jackson, co-owner of Monomyth Coffee, said he is happy to contribute to the community and make people happy with good coffee. He opened the shop with his brother after he graduated from Lubbock Christian University.
âWe love the community of Lubbock, the young professionals that live out here and the people who work downtown,â Jackson said. âWe have a pretty big presence of all ages and races, and itâs a pretty good mixture since weâre between Tech and downtown.â
