Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record The number of adults with COVID-19 in inpatient beds at Roswell’s two acute care hospitals for the first seven days of January increased by 12 compared to the previous week, according to information from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. But the number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) beds decreased by six, the fourth week that ICU bed usage has gone down in the local area. The most recent national hospital utilization report released Monday by the federal department covers the seven-day period of Jan. 1 to Jan. 7. It shows that 159 adults confirmed to have COVID-19 occupied inpatient beds in Roswell, 135 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center and 24 at Lovelace Regional Hospital.
