HIGGINSVILLE MAN FACES CHARGES AFTER KICKING IN DOOR OF RESIDENCE AND FLEEING WITH CHILD

A Higginsville man is facing several charges including a couple of felonies following an incident on Thursday, December 10. According to a statement from the Higginsville Police Department, an officer was dispatched to a residence at 104 W. Fairground Avenue in response to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived they were advised that 29-year-old Kevin Lewallen had kicked in the back door to the residence. According to witnesses after entering the home, Lewallen attempted to forcefully remove his four month old child from a bouncy chair. Witnesses claim that Lewallen had a bottle of alcohol in his hand and appeared to be intoxicated. When the calling party attempted to stop Lewallen he smacked them in the face and exited the home with the child and the alcohol. Lewallen then aggressively placed the child into the front passenger seat of the vehicle, without a carseat and sped off to an unknown location.

FELONY DRUG CHARGE FILED AFTER TRAFFIC STOP ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8

A 42-year-old Matthews, North Carolina, woman is facing a drug-related felony charge after a traffic stop in Lafayette County on Tuesday, December 8. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the trooper says he found two Crown Royal bags containing small containers of marijuana; a grinder; and flavored cigars in one area of the vehicle. He also located two containers of THC-infused edibles in another location; and a controlled pill inside the woman’s purse. Inside the trunk, the trooper says he located two large bags containing vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana and two large jars of THC oil. The trooper estimated the marijuana weighed approximately 50 pounds and the containers of oil approximately four pounds.
