Schools in Acadiana are beginning to announce early dismissal times due to the forecast threat of severe weather on Wednesday afternoon.
Acadia Parish
According to Superintendent Scott Richard, Acadia Parish Public Schools will be dismissing early on Wednesday, March 17, due to inclement weather threat later this afternoon. The district plans to start dismissal after early lunch has been served around 11:30 am.

Evangeline Parish School Superintendent Darwan Lazard says that all public schools and district offices will be closing at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 17 due to severe weather.

A local prep football standout, who has been heavily recruited over the last year, has obviously put his scheduled commitment date on hold, after receiving an offer from yet another SEC school over the weekend.
Jordan Allen, a defensive back who currently attends Lafayette Christian Academy, shared on social media over the weekend that he has been extended an offer by Tennessee.
Earlier this month, Andrew Ivins of 247Sports reported Allen had planned to announce his college commitment on Saturday, March 13, which of course has now passed.
Ivins reported that Miami, Georgia, Mississippi St., South Carolina, Penn St., and Arkansas were the schools that Allen is still considering.
