Pope was released from LaSalle Detention Center on March 7, the prison confirmed.
He was released early after earning good behavior credit.
Pope was sentenced to one year in jail after being found guilty in October 2018 by a Lafayette Parish jury for using city marshal money to hire attorneys for personal use.
As part of his sentencing, Pope also must serve 240 hours of community service. He must pay $1,500 in fines and court fees, and pay $11,700 in restitution.
Pope was removed from his post as city marshal in October by a judge just minutes after he tried to resign from the office via email.

Opelousas Police say two suspects have been identified and arrested in connection to the armed robberies of several people near the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Creswell Lane on Thursday.
Police say 41-year-old Frank Robertson and 31-year-old Kayvyon Sapp of Opelousas were identified as suspects through information provided by the public. Both were arrested in Lafayette Parish with the assistance of the sheriff s office. Sapp was located at a residence in the parish, police say.
Both suspects are being booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.

LAFAYETTE, La. â Former Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope was released from prison on March 7 after completing 126 days of his one year sentence in jail.
His attorney, Brett Grayson, confirmed to KATC Thursday morning that Pope had been released after completing his sentence.
According to the Department of Corrections, Pope served the 126 days owed to DOC, or 35% of his one year sentence, and was released on active Good Time Parole by the DOC s Board of Pardons and Committee on Parole until Nov. 2, 2021.
