Deputies respond to fights at Cajundome Saturday night

Several viewers reached out to KATC regarding an incident at the Cajundome Saturday night, where Acadiana High s graduation was taking place.
Deputies responded to reports of at least two fights at the venue, Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office spokesperson Valerie Ponseti confirmed.
Rumors circulated of gunshots during the incident, but Ponseti said there were no shots fired that deputies are aware of.
No arrests were made.
A shooting in Carencro ended with an arrest made by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office. According to witnesses, no injuries were reported as multiple shots were heard by those in the area.
According to witnesses near the scene, the alleged shooter fired shots from closer to the intersection of University Ave. and Church St. in Downtown Carencro. Shots were fired towards a convenient store that neighbors Carencro Catholic School s property and residential homes.
Witnesses say that Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office searched and cleared the surrounding area, including the residential homes backyards, with a K-9. No injuries have been reported.
As of now, we know of one suspect that has been arrested. One more suspect is being sought by authorities as witnesses noted two men fleeing the scene.

Carencro Police and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff s Office are currently investigating a shooting incident in the 4400 block of University Ave.
Officers responded to the scene in front of Karen s Grocery in Carencro at around 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 18. Im standing up right outside the car, got somebody in a car, my cousins in the car, we hear bop bop bop bop, all hit the ground Markcody Arceneuax said.
Markcody Arceneaux said he was outside of the store when it happened. We all hit the ground, they played the cameras back, everyone was biting concrete. It was at least 7 or 8 came from this way, 7 or 8 come from this way, you can hear them ricocheting off the ground. Ting ting ting. It was scary Arceneaux said.
