Four booked for slaying British Pakistani woman

LAHORE: Initial investigations into the murder of a 26-year-old British national Pakistani girl have suggested that the two persons allegedly known to the victim had shot her dead at her rented house in the Defence-B police limits the other day.
Police have registered an FIR against the nominated accused persons, collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and started investigations into the incident.
Sources in investigation wing of Lahore police told The News that the girl was also holding citizenship of Belgium while her parentswere living in the UK. She was a law graduate from London.

Wife, her lover turn out to be killers of prayer leader

LAHORE:The investigations of blind murder case of an imam masjid few days back revealed that victim’s wife and her lover were behind the murder; this has been revealed by DIG Investigations Lahore Shariq Jamal in a press conference at his office on Monday.
Shariq Jamal said that the victim Qari Asif was murdered few days back in Shalimar and Police have arrested the suspect Ashraf Usman. He had relationship with the victim’s wife. Both wanted to contract marriage. Asif’s wife had demanded divorce many a times earlier and after the failure, they hatched a plan to remove him from the scene. Jamal added that Police also arrested three other suspected murderers involved in other blind murder cases. A few days back a man Gul Ahmad was shot dead by two unidentified suspects in Green Town. The prime suspect identified as Zaed Maqsood has been arrested. Maqsood told the police that he murdered Gul Ahm

In a late night development, police conducted over 100 raids at the houses of notorious ‘criminals’ and arrested over 97 suspects on Wednesday.
The raiding teams also recovered arms and ammunition in a large quantity.
Opposing the action of the police against ‘proclaimed offenders and those harbouring criminals’, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Sohail Shaukat Butt said the law enforcement agencies were forcing people to shift their loyalties towards the current government.
He accused the police of heavy firing at his house which broke several windowpanes. He claimed that the cops also arrested his domestic helpers.

A passenger has confessed to murdering an online cab service driver after an altercation.
The suspected murderer reportedly told the police that he had got enraged over getting late in visiting a girl.
The suspect, Muhammad Tahir, was arrested two days back on identification of a friend of his.
He revealed during police interrogation that the altercation started after he asked the victim, Muhammad Ali, to drive faster because he was getting late. After he repeatedly pressured the driver to drive faster, the latter asked him to get off the car.
