A man with an amputated left leg on Friday appeared as a petitioner before the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate on the night of October 20.
The amputee’s lawyer, O.E. Bamgbola, gave his client’s name as Lucky Philemon.
Bamgbola told the panel that his client was before the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-led panel in relation to the Lekki shootings.
He said, “The petition relates to a peaceful protester who suffered gunshot injuries as a result of the shootings on the 20th of October in the Lekki axis, in consequence of which he became an amputee; his left leg was amputated.

A 27-year-old carpenter and an #ENDSARS protester, Lucky Philemon, who was shot at on October 20, at the Lekki Tollgate, appeared before the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry, on Saturday, with his left leg amputated.
The amputee’s lawyer, O. E. Bamgbola, told the panel that the petitioner, a peaceful protester, was before the panel in relation to the Lekki shootings.
He said: “The petition relates to a peaceful protester who suffered gunshot injuries as a result of the shootings of October 20 in the Lekki axis, in consequence of which he became an amputee; his left leg was amputated.

American media house, Cable News Network, CNN, has shunned a summons issued to it to appear before the Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged killing of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate, Lagos on the night of October 20.
The foreign media house contended that it does not fall under the territorial jurisdiction of the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-led panel to warrant being summoned to appear before the panel.
The CNN had, in a two-part report backed with pictures and video clips, implicated the Nigerian Army in the alleged killing of peaceful protesters at the Lekki tollgate.
