Punch Newspapers Sections Deji Lambo A woman, Kehinde Omoyeni, has accused her husband, Olashile, of abandoning their 17-year-old son, Clinton, after he was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. Kehinde told PUNCH Metro that after she informed her estranged husband that the boy needed surgery, estimated at N3.1m, he started avoiding discussions on his health. The 43-year-old woman said her spirit was broken when her husband’s family accused her of taking advantage of her son’s condition to make money. She said, “Clinton suddenly started stooling and vomiting, and I took him to see a doctor at the Ikorodu General Hospital. He complained of consistent chest pain in the hospital and the doctor said he had a heart problem and referred us to LASUTH.

+ According to Mr Abonu, the free supply of insulin to children project, tagged “Changing Diabetes in Children”, will start in 2021 in Ghana and Nigeria, in fulfillment of the company’s goal to ensure full access to its insulin. Novo Nordisk, a multinational pharmaceutical company, on Saturday announced the introduction of a programme to supply free insulin to children living with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in Nigeria and Ghana from 2021. Jude Abonu, Business Unit Head, English West Africa, Novo Nordisk, made the disclosure at a webinar organised by the company to mark the 2020 World Diabetes Day (WDD) with the theme “The Nurse and Diabetes”.
