Emergency services have blocked off the A50 following a three-vehicle collision.
Police and fire engines are currently on the scene on the eastbound carriageway due to an accident at Victoria Place Link, in Heron Cross, this evening.
It is not clear at this stage whether there are any serious injuries.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: Police requested our assistance following a three-vehicle collision at 5.42pm on the A50 at the junction of Blurton Road. We remain on the scene at this time.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix says congestion is backing up the Longton Exchange turn off with delays of around 10 minutes.
