OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department has gone two weeks without reporting a COVID-19 related death. This is the longest time the county has gone without a coronavirus related death since early October. The LCHD reported 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, totaling 11,560 since the pandemic began. 10 additional recovered cases were reported as well, for a total of 9,711.

STREATOR – An outdoor graduation is in the works for Streator High School’s class of 2021. According to Superintendent Matt Seaton, the plan was approved by the LaSalle County Health Department to host graduation on the football field. Seaton says seniors will be seated in the grandstands and family members will be situated on the field in designated areas, all six feet apart. The graduation is expected to fall on a Saturday with a Sunday rain date.
