Texas is in the middle of a shift to renewable energy from fossil fuels. Why would anyone, including politicians and regulators, advocate investing in doomed infrastructure? Whether pumping stations or generating plants, investors can see the day coming when they are told to abandon their investment. Ratepayers or taxpayers, we are all going to pay for whatever solution is put in place, but please, let s not go back to the perverse negative incentives of regulated power, when a fixed rate of return was guaranteed, thus guaranteeing huge cost overruns, to ratepayers detriment.

at the Texas border COVID will not stop at Texas state borders. So now it appears that Gov. Abbott has the right to singlehandedly unleash the COVID virus on all Americans, not just Texans, reversing all the hard-won progress that has been made. I therefore propose that I, a non-Texan, should be allowed to vote in your election to get rid of him. Deborah Taylor, Santa Cruz, Calif. Abbott proves again he s not the leader for Texas How many people will contract COVID and how many will die because of Abbott s latest lack of judgment? How can he deny that masks are effective?
