(Lancaster County, NE) The investigation into the suspicious death of Carly Schaaf continues.
Schaaf s body was found near Pawnee Lake last week after being reported missing on May 19th. The day Schaaf s body was found, Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said deputies had discovered the 23 year old s body covered up in an overgrown area on the Southwest side of the lake. He did not say how long they believed Schaaf s body had been there
On Monday, the Lincoln Police Department announced that during their investigation into Shaaf s disappearance, investigators obtained information that led to a search of the lake area, where LPD officers located Shaaf s body. LPD says since Pawnee Lake is within the jurisdiction of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, LSO investigators were called to investigate and process the scene.

Anna Wishart pushing bill to legalize medical marijuana
Lincoln Sen. Anna Wishart offered the Legislature one more chance to legalize medical marijuana and enact strict regulations over who could access cannabis and how it could be used.
If lawmakers decided not to advance her measure (LB474), she said, voters will almost certainly be granted the opportunity to consider a ballot initiative next year asking them to enshrine âthe right to cannabis for medical purposesâ into the state constitution.
âMake no mistake,â Wishart said on Wednesday morning, âwe will get the signatures to qualify the initiative for the ballot. Weâve done it before in a global pandemic, and it will pass with overwhelming support in this state.â
