Lancaster city police are investigating a stabbing Saturday night in Southeast Lancaster city that sent a 26-year-old man to the hospital after he confronted his girlfriend’s former husband.

Police said officers were called to the area of Conestoga and South Water streets for reports of a shooting at 2:48 p.m. Dec. 25. A 17-year-old Lancaster resident was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The teen was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
Investigators determined McCracken was the shooter, and after consulting with the Lancaster District Attorney’s Office he was charged as an adult.
Police previously said the two teens had been in an argument prior to the shooting.

McCracken is charged as an adult with criminal attempt homicide and aggravated assault, among other related charges, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office said.

The man died at the scene, according to police. He is a 55-year-old Lancaster resident who does not live at the home where the stabbing happened, police said.Police said the person accused of carrying out the stabbing remained at the scene.
