Several popular stores are planning to open new locations in New Castle County in the coming months and years.
Here are some recent updates on a few of the most anticipated projects.
Target in Prices Corner
The Target in Prices Corner appears to be nearing completion, but the company has yet to announce an opening date. Our Wilmington Prices Corner Target store is planned to open this spring, Target spokesperson Jill Lewis wrote in an email.
Lewis did not comment further, saying more details will be shared closer to the store opening.
The store s bullseye logo went up last Wednesday and Target is hiring for several roles for the new store. Last year, Target raised its starting wage to $15 an hour.

Chellas Arepa Kitchen sells an assortment of arepas, which are corn cakes that are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

, , . It is a project designed to be enjoyed for years to come by community members and visitors alike. The Manor campuses sit on over 40 beautiful, wooded acres. The legacy project aims to utilize the areas for both recreation and spiritual purposes.
Once completed, the efforts will result in a winding, wooded pathway with 12 benches at which to sit, meditate and enjoy nature. One step from each of the 12 steps of AA will be carved on the back of each bench. Matt hopes the project creates a refuge for those who use it. The path itself will also offer users the chance to wander, walk or run.

Five Berks County restaurants were ordered by the state last week to shut down for violating COVID-19 restrictions.
Four of the five were previously ordered to close for defying a temporary statewide ban on indoor dining.
The five were on a list of 24 restaurants across the state ordered to close for violating COVID-19 restrictions that was issued by the state Department of Agriculture this week. The department has been issuing such lists each week.

The closure orders are based on inspections done by the department, most of which are initiated by complaints from the public.
