Regal Brandywine reopens after COVID-19 restrictions limited capacity

Delaware News Journal The Regal Brandywine Town Center reopened its doors Friday, and Regal Peoples Plaza is planning a May 7 reopening.  Those are the two largest movie theaters in Delaware by number of screens, and by that May 7 date, every major movie theater in the state will be open. Regal Cinemas, the nation's second-largest movie theater chain, closed its theaters in October in part because "No Time to Die," the Daniel Craig-led James Bond movie, was delayed by COVID-19. That movie was initially slated for a spring 2020 release and has been pushed back twice, now to October of this year.

Prices Corner Target opens next week; latest in Delaware

Delaware News Journal Target in Prices Corner is opening next week, the anchor of the redeveloped Prices Corner shopping center on Kirkwood Highway.  The store has a soft opening scheduled for next Wednesday with an "official grand opening" slated for the following Saturday. Target officials did not say what time the store will open, saying more details will be shared closer to the store's opening. Here's what you should know about the new Target. Location The Target is in the former Sears building on the west side of the shopping center. At 113,000 square feet, it is the smallest of Target's four Delaware stores, but larger than most of Target's urban small-format stores.

Target in Prices Corner shopping center opening soon

Delaware News Journal Editor's note: A previous version of this story listed the incorrect date for when Sears in Prices Corner opened. The store opened in 1963. The Target in Prices Corner will open April 18, according to a sign posted on the building. The store has taken part of the space previously occupied by Sears in the Prices Corner shopping center on Kirkwood Highway and is anchoring a redevelopment of the nearly 6-decade-old complex. Among the new businesses joining Target in Prices Corner will be Chick-fil-A, Urban Kitchen and Tropical Smoothie. The shopping center recently underwent a renovation, updating its facade to an industrial gray look.
