Multiple COVID Outbreaks In Lambton County | 99 1 FM CKXS

December 27, 2020   Lambton County health officials are investigating several new outbreaks of COVID-19, including five confirmed cases in one workplace, two at a second, and three linked to a third business.  No identifying information is being made public.  An outbreak has also been declared at Great Lakes Secondary School with two confirmed cases. Public Health is working with the Lambton Kent District School Board on extra safety measures for staff who are working at the school over the winter break.  There are currently 92 active cases of COVID-19 in Lambton County. Local School Boards Prepare for Longer Winter Break | 99 1 FM CKXS

December 18, 2020   Students across the province will be able to start their Christmas break at the end of the day. The big question of course is will it be longer than two weeks. Education minister Steven Lecce has warned school boards across the province to prepare for remote learning after January 4th if necessary. Deb Crawford, the Director of Education for the St. Clair District Catholic School Board says she doesn’t think that will impact this area. “From our perspective, we believe that our Yellow state of COVID here has made us very safe, and at this point we have no indication that we would, locally, be closing or changing our delivery (of education) come January.”
