[Dan Soul, 106.1 The Goat] With a week and a half to go until Bike For Breakfast riders hit the road, the team is putting the pedal down for the final stretch of fundraising. The campaign will see ten local riders doing the 1,046KM ride to Tuffnell, Saskatchewan in support of food for students programs at the Lloydminster Public School Division, Lloydminster Catholic School Division, Onion Lake Cree Nation, Northwest School Division and Buffalo Trail Elementary Schools.

LCSD confirms COVID-19 cases at Ecole St. Thomas, one classroom to self-isolate SHARE ON: (Pixabay.com) The Lloydminster Catholic School Division says a COVID-19 case has been found at Ecole St. Thomas, requiring one classroom to self isolate. COVID-19 was found in an individual at École St. Thomas in the Grade 3C ,who last attended school on April 22nd, 2021. The LCSD notes that Public Health’s investigation has concluded that all students in Grade 3C at will need to self isolate until May 6th, 2021. Online learning will begin tomorrow for students of 3C, and the students will be brought back to campus on May 7th.

K to 9 students will be back in classes everyday while high school students will continue attending classes in-person every other day. Director of Education Todd Robinson says the division is prepared for the possibility of all their students having to switch to online learning. “We would prefer to have students in our schools on a day-to-day basis. We miss not having them now at the high school everyday as we’re in a every other day context, but I think the school division has done a really good job at preparing and should we be asked to move to that mode of delivery, we will be ready to go and it will be a good enriched experience for our students and well suppor

Another COVID-19 case found at Holy Rosary, one class to move online for Thursday SHARE ON: Illustration of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2, the cause of COVID-19 (Alissa Eckert, MS, Dan Higgins, MAMS) The Lloydminster Catholic School Division has confirmed a new positive COVID case at Holy Rosary, and as such a class will go online tomorrow. The case was found in an individual in the Grade 8 Group A class at Holy Rosary High School. As a precaution, the school division says, Public Health is requiring all Grade 8 students in Group A who attended school on December 11th, to isolate until tomorrow, December 17th, at 6pm.
