Oakes and Heathen have been in custody since they were arrested in July 2020. Onion Lake RCMP had responded to a report that a man was shot with a firearm. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. Police say the suspects fled Onion Lake in a vehicle. About an hour later the vehicle they were in collided with another vehicle on 46 Avenue in Lloydminster. Police say that after Heathen and Oakes crashed their vehicle they allegedly pointed a firearm at someone in an attempt to steal a truck. They were unsuccessful and fled on foot. Minutes later, they allegedly fired two shots at someone inside a vehicle in a second failed attempted carjacking.
North Battleford Legal Aid lawyer Andrew Lyster told the court that he just received “basic disclosure” and asked for a one-month adjournment. According to RCMP, at about 5 p.m. on April 17, 2021, RCMP responded to the 5300 block of 50 Avenue in Lloydminster for a report of a deceased man on the sidewalk. He was later identified as Daxon Hornick-Schmidt. An obituary for Daxon said he attended school in the United States, Canada and Germany, and was fluent in German. Daxon graduated from North Battleford high school in 2014 and went on to attend Lakeland College with a desire to further his writing skills.
According to Lloydminster RCMP, three people robbed a Lloydminster hotel at gunpoint at 1:19 p.m. on March 29. Police say they fled in one of the victim’s vehicles. Wuttunee was denied bail last month and remains in custody. He appears in court again on May 11. Dillon has a show cause hearing on May 10 in Lloydminster Provincial Court. Whitstone hasn’t been arrested yet. Whitstone is described as a 5-foot-6 Indigenous man, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Whitstone s whereabouts is unknown. Lloydminster RCMP arrest three people with a large quantity of drugs

The Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and Crime Reduction Unit has taken three individuals into custody on alleged drug trafficking charges.
On April 29th, Members stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a local hotel in the 5400 block of 44 Street, determining the driver had a suspended license.
During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found a large amount of drugs. In total, over 400 grams of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were seized, with a street value of about $50,000.
26-year-old Kellie Moccasin and 41-year-old Leroy Moccasin Jr. of Saulteaux First Nation have been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
