Nipissing University Faculty Association has joined with other university faculty unions in calling for the resignation of Ross Romano, provincial minister of colleges and universities, and Robert Hache, president of Laurentian University, along with his senior leadership team.
Laurentian is in the midst of restructuring its operations under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, and has cut several faculty, staff and programs.

The motions were taken, NUFA said in a release, due to “the loss of confidence in the minister’s commitment to the university sector, as well as LU President Robert Hache and his senior leadership team in failing to lead the university through this crisis, and the catastrophic mishandling of the situation at LU.”
