Do I take this offering, this request of me to teach this course in light of all of what was being done, and the behaviour that Laurentian had exhibited? Morin said. It was hard, but ironically, the course that I m teaching is an Indigenous tradition and culture course of which the values that I aspire to, and teach, is about how important it is to be humble.

In a fresh communique, 11:56 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, Laurentian University states: “Through engagement with the Laurentian University Native Education Council (LUNEC), discussions are ongoing with respect to additional Indigenous studies courses that may be developed and offered by Laurentian in future, in addition to the existing programs and courses that currently exist.”
If Laurentian University president Hache means the full range of Indigenous Studies programming that the University of Sudbury has been offering specialization, concentration, several minors, and the various courses needed for each several full-time faculty would be required if Laurentian is to do justice by this discipline.
Laurentian University spring enrolment holds steady as restructuring continues
Laurentian University says the institution has maintained spring enrolment similar to last year s as it enters its second phase of restructuring.

Minister of Colleges and Universities Ross Romano has announced the Northern Ontario School of Medicine is being severed from Laurentian and Lakehead universities.
On Friday, Romano announced school would no longer be able to offer degrees as part of Lakehead or Laurentian University and would instead become a fully autonomous degree-granting institution.
Working with and granting degrees from both Lakehead and Laurentian universities, the school ensured students enrolled at either institution could attain a medical education and receive a degree from an Ontario university.
