Three charged in Ogdensburg after warrants turn up gun, mushrooms, large cannabis quantities: police

Friday, April 30, 2021 - 1:15 pm OGDENSBURG – Three teenagers have been charged after city police say they found a gun, psilocybin mushrooms and illegal quantities of cannabis while executing a search warrant. The arrests started with a report of an armed robbery on Tuesday, April 27, police said. The residents of 809 Mechanic St. reported that two men entered the home, brandished a revolver, stole property from the residence and fled in an identified vehicle, police said. City police say state troopers later found the vehicle. Searching the vehicle with a warrant, city police say they found a .357 revolver and about five pounds of cannabis.

Friday, April 30, 2021 - 1:13 pm BY ANDY GARDNER North Country This Week CANTON – St. Lawrence County Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe says his plan to add a new K-9 to the force is centered on tracking lost people. The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office received preliminary approval to open an account to take donations to pay for a second K9 unit. A Board of Legislators committee voted on the resolution earlier in April. It has to go in front of the full board in May to become official. Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe said they need the second dog to be more specialized in tracking. Their current K9, Knowlton, is trained in tracking, but mostly is used for narcotics searches.

(WWNY) - A report of an armed robbery ended with the arrest of 3 people and the seizure of drugs, cash and a gun. Ogdensburg police were called to 809 Mechanic Street on Tuesday after it was reported that 2 men entered the home with a gun, stole property, and fled in a vehicle. After the vehicle was located, police said they found approximately 5 pounds of marijuana and a .357 revolver. Information developed from the investigation led to a raid at 809 Mechanic Street, where police said they found another 5 pounds of marijuana, 11 ounces of concentrated cannabis, 85 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and more than $30,000 in cash.
