CANTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Canton man is accused of having sex about a year ago with someone who is underage.
Canton police say 36-year-old Timothy Harmer of 36 Spears Street was charged following a lengthy investigation of an alleged incident in April 2020.
He was arrested Monday and charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sex act, sexual misconduct, and use of a child less than 17 years of age in a sexual performance.

A North Alabama mother was charged Monday with aggravated child abuse after she allegedly refused to have her 15-month old son treated for injuries that led to his death Tuesday, according to court records.
Jordan Ellan Harmon, 26, of Moulton, was charged with aggravated child abuse of a child less than 6 years old after “refusing to seek medical attention” for her son, who suffered serious injuries to his head, arm and groin area on at least three separate occasions, records showed.

CANTON SUNY Canton s Corrections Academy is now accepting applications for its two upcoming summer classes.
The academy classes will be held beginning June 1 and July 12 in Dana Hall, corresponding with the college s Summer Sessions.
The college is continuing an agreement with the St. Lawrence County Sheriff s Office, and the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to offer the valuable training. It is open to individuals who have been hired by county agencies, as well as all SUNY students who meet the eligibility guidelines. Academy coursework can be taken for college credit.
More than a dozen cadets, including students, are registered to attend. Its classes will be among the first held in the recently renovated Dana Hall building. Deputies arrest man wanted in Laurens County homicide

DUDLEY, Ga. A man wanted in a Dudley homicide has been arrested.
According to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Quantavauis Darrisaw is now in their custody.
Darrisaw was wanted in connection with the murder of 41-year-old Doug Darrisaw after he was found shot to death in a car outside of Doug’s Convenience Store in Dudley on April 3.
Responding deputies discovered his body while responding to a call for a ‘suspicious vehicle.’
