League of Legends World Championship will be held in Shenzhen, China, Riot Games announced late Friday. The Worlds Final will be at the Universiade Sports Centre, a 60,000 capacity stadium that’s home to the Shenzhen FC football (soccer) club, on November 6th.
“We’re extremely excited to push the boundaries of entertainment and sport this year with Worlds 2021 and define the next 10 years of LoL Esports,” John Needham, Global Head of Esports for Riot Games said in a statement. “Shenzhen is China’s most competitive and innovative city with thousands of high-tech startups and entrepreneurial pursuits, so we felt that it was the perfect landscape to host our Finals.”

The 2021 League of Legends MSI has started, and world champions DAMWON Kia registered their first tournament win against the North American Spring Split champions, Cloud9.
DWG came in as firm favorites to win the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational and carried vast loads of expectations from their fans. Now, after a brilliant start to their first international matchup against the LCS representatives, the Korean League of Legend giants have successfully managed to make a statement for the rest of the competition.
League of Legends: Wild Rift will get its own “global esports event” in 2021
League of Legends is arguably the biggest esport in the world, but Riot Games is wasting no time in getting its younger sibling, Wild Rift, all caught up. Wild Rift brings the LoL experience to mobile devices, and has already attracted a large playerbase. It has also seen a few regional competitive tournaments hosted already. But Riot wants to put it on the global stage as quickly as possible.
During today’s media broadcast ahead of MSI 2021 and the Valorant Champions Tour Stage 2 Masters in Iceland, Riot revealed that not only would all regions have competitions up and running by this summer but that a large international event will be held towards the end of 2021.
