Starting just before midnight on Saturday, everyone indoors no matter their vaccination status will be required to wear a face covering, unless they are eating or drinking. “This is an all-hands-on-deck moment,” said Los Angeles County Public Health Officer Dr. Muntu Davis at a Thursday afternoon press conference. “We’re seeing the rates go up too high. We all need to do our part to try and prevent the need to do something else.”

La Scala, a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California known for its celebrity clientele, was caught offering something it shouldn’t have been offering. La Scala is facing backlash for placing invitations in take-out orders which offer the possibility of indoor dining at the restaurant on New Year’s Eve. The management appears to have been attempting to take the pulse of customers to find out if there was interest in such an evening celebration. Ironically, the restaurant asked customers to spread the word but to do so discreetly. To prove just how dumb that gambit was, an invitation found its way into the hands of a Los Angeles journalist.

City Council Adopts Resolution And Request Repeal

Canyon News BEVERLY HILLS On December 1, the Beverly Hills City Council had an unanimous vote approving  a resolution opposing the Los Angeles County Public Health Officer order which prohibits all outdoor dining across the County and the City Of Beverly Hills. The city council discussed the legal actions necessary in exploring the creation of a City Health Department. On December 8, a motion was placed to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to repeal the current Health Order. At the moment the Beverly Hills City Council is requesting that the county focus on stern restrictions that are based on their location and current state status with the pandemic.

Remembering Community Leader, Philanthropist Cheri Fleming Real Life Church held memorial services for Cheri Fleming on Friday, a longtime philanthropist in the Santa Clarita community who has supported numerous nonprofit organizations. Cheryl Anne “Cheri” Fleming, 69, of Valencia, passed away from natural causes on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, CA, following a brief illness resulting from a brain aneurysm. “I never thought this day would come, the day that Cheri would not be by my side. Cheri was my everything,” read a letter from Cheri’s husband, Don Fleming. “She was everything to everyone who knew her. I realized that each day of our 40 years together and I certainly appreciate it even more today how Cheri took care of everything in our lives, from our family to our home, from our business to our community involvement. Cheri handled life with grace and beauty.”
