Seniors have perhaps been the most impacted by the COVID pandemic in both the number of deaths associated with the virus and isolation. Now that many of them have been vaccinated, theyâre slowly coming back out. The Lincoln County Senior Center held a senior advocacy day on Saturday so that area seniors could been with their local representatives.
âAs part of our senior center of excellence certification we have to do so many advocacy benefits a year,â Lincoln County Senior Center Kathryn Saine said. âOne of the advocacy events that we like to do is have our representatives who are in Raleigh and make the funding decisions for our senior centers come to visit. Itâs really important that our seniors are able to get in front of them and let their voices be heard.â
