Missing Woman Sought By Authorities, Assistance From Public Requested Laura Kathryn Smith Missing Woman Sought By Authorities, Assistance From Public Requested May 13, 2021 Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing woman. On Wednesday (May 12) an investigation began into the missing persons report. The reporting party told officers 36-year-old Laura Kathryn Smith of Madison Street in Lincolnton was last seen leaving a West Highview Lane, Lincolnton, residence enroute to an appointment. The missing woman told the reporting party that she would be back shortly but never returned. Deputies learned that Smith may be in the company of George Christian Settlemyre of Catawba County. She is described as a white female, 5’3″, 105 pounds. She has brownish/blond hair and brown eyes.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives say they are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a woman who went missing in Lincolnton, N.C. on Wednesday. Detectives say 36-year-old Laura Kathryn Smith was reported missing on May 12th, after she was last seen leaving a home on West Highview Lane to go to an appointment and never returned. Laura Kathryn Smith Authorities describe Smith as a White woman, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and 105 pounds with dirty blonde colored hair and brown eyes. Detectives say Smith may be in the company of a man named George Christian Settlemyre of Catawba County.

Hickory, Maiden Residents Among 14 Indicted Following Drug Investigation Hickory, Maiden Residents Among 14 Indicted Following Drug Investigation May 12, 2021 The Lincoln County Grand Jury indicted 14 people Monday (May 10) in connection to a lengthy Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office undercover drug operation. Narcotics investigators began the operation targeting street level dealers in late 2019 and ending in early 2021. During the investigation, undercover officers purchased crack cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana and opiods. As a result, the 14 suspects were indicted on various charges including the sale and delivery of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for the purpose of storing or selling a controlled substance.
