(KOLN) -The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced on Friday that 63 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Lancaster County, bringing the community total to 30,688. The total number of deaths in the community remains at 232. Variant cases:  Nine additional COVID-19 variant cases have been confirmed in Lancaster County – six are B.1.1.7 also known as the U.K. variant, and three are California variants. The variants were identified through special testing at the Nebraska Public Health Lab, and LLCHD is currently investigating. A total of 47 cases of COVID-19 variants have now been identified in Lancaster County:

(April 14, 2021) – As COVID-19 vaccinations continue across the state, data suggest there is hesitancy to receive the vaccine among Nebraskans, including some who are part of the state’s minority populations. Nebraska medical experts will explore concerns and answer questions from viewers across the state in the special “Speaking of Nebraska: Vaccine Hesitancy,” filmed on location at Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Neb., at 7 p.m. CT, Wednesday, April 28. The in-person taping event is open to the public, but seating is limited to ensure social distancing. Risk Dial in Low Yellow, new mask exception

KLKN-TV April 20, 2021 3:35 pm LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)  The COVID-19 Risk Dial for Lancaster County has dropped to Low Yellow, the lowest risk level the community has seen since the dial was launched a year ago. Health Director Pat Lopez explained, “This past week we saw a drop in the number of new weekly cases from 348 to 264. This is the largest drop in weekly cases in nine weeks. It is also the lowest weekly case count since late August.” With a drop in the risk dial, Lancaster County will be seeing new Direct Health Measures (DHMs) go into effect this Friday.
