Parents and students will rally Wednesday afternoon in a push to get high schoolers back into the classroom at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

The rally comes after the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education released new guidance Tuesday as schools across the state prepare to return to in-person learning next month.

Local school officials in Massachusetts reported to the state 373
new coronavirus cases among students and 209 among school staff members for the two-week period that ended Wednesday.
Officials estimate that about 450,000 students across the state are attending some form of in-person learning, and about 75,000 staff members are working in buildings.
Cases are only reported among students who are attending in-person school; cases among students in a fully remote learning model are not being tracked by the state. Cases among staff members are only being reported if the employee was inside a school building within the seven days prior to the reported case.

AARP Tax Preparation: Due to the pandemic, we are planning to offer AARP Tax Preparation assistance with special safety protocols. Registration begins on Feb. 4, no earlier. Appointments will be available on Thursdays and Fridays from Feb. 25 to April 9. The method of operation will depend on the current situation and level of safety needed. Atkinson Scholarship deadline approaching

Sudbury Foundation recently announced the final deadline for its Atkinson Scholarship Program is on Feb. 1.
Established in 1995, the Atkinson Scholarship Program offers qualified high school seniors up to $5,000 a year in grant money, with an option to reapply each year of their undergraduate academic career. The scholarships are designed to recognize and assist local students with financial need, academic promise and the capacity to make a meaningful contribution to society.
To be eligible for an Atkinson Scholarship, an applicant must be a high school senior planning to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university, nursing school or approved vocational/professional development program. In addition, the applicant must be either a Sudbury resident or the dependent of a Sudbury resident; or enrolled at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School or the dependent of a full-time Town of Sudbury employee or a full-
