The pizzeria is located on the same block as one of its sister restaurants, Little Big Diner.
“It is really nice to be so close. We’re kind of a family in that regard,” she said. “We’ve all worked together.”
Dave Punch and Shane Smyth co-own those two restaurants plus sycamore.[sic], also in Newton Centre, and Buttonwood in Newton Highlands. Jinny’s is the first eatery that Reichert has co-owned.
Punch and Smyth hired Reichert in 2012 to work at sycamore., but she has been a chef since finishing high school.
Asked how she felt about opening the pizzeria during the COVID pandemic, Reichert said, “It’s nerve-wracking of course … you’re always nervous to open a restaurant anyway.”
