(WVUE) - Jason Baglio, a well-known Elvis Presley tribute artist that performed under the name “Jayson Alfano”, has died after suffering a gunshot wound, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lori Steele confirmed today. Steele said that the incident occurred last night and that the suspect has been arrested in New Orleans. Baglio is a resident of Independence and launched his career in Tangipahoa Parish before becoming well known throughout the Southeast for his performance.

(AP) A father and son have been arrested in the fatal shooting of an Elvis impersonator in Louisiana. The Livingston Parish Sheriff s Office said that deputies responded to reports of gunshots at an address in Denham Springs around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, The Advocate reported. They found Jason Baglio, who had been shot multiple times and died from his injuries. The sheriff s office determined that 28-year-old Trace Pigott was the shooter, the newspaper reported. He was arrested in the New Orleans. Authorities said he would be sent back to Livingston Parish on a second-degree murder charge.

According to officials, Barbara Blount went missing in 2008 when she was 58 years old, and detectives are not giving up in their search efforts. Sheriff Jason Ard is alerting the public as to the basics of the case in hopes that someone will speak up and provide pertinent information in relation to the case.

(WAFB) - A Livingston Parish man was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on cruelty to juvenile charges. Deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Jack Shaffer after he was accused of beating an 8-year-old child with a metal spatula. Deputies were initially called out to a home in Maurepas on Tuesday, April 27 in response to a juvenile complaint. The child’s father reached out to WAFB about Shaffer and said he was disgusted at the bruises left on his child’s body and believes the arrest could not have come soon enough.
