(WAFB) - Three days of freezing temperatures and ice have left Livingston Parish, particularly rural areas, in the eerie dark. Deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office shared photos of their patrols on icy roads in the parish in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Feb. 17. Many of the photos were reminiscent of the cinematography from Netflix’s hit show “Stranger Things.”

(WAFB) - Electric crews have been hard at work for the last 24 hours restoring power to about 50,000 people across Louisiana.  RELATED: That includes parts of Livingston Parish, as thousands were still in the dark Tuesday night (February 16 at 10 p.m.). While the parish-wide curfew has been lifted, everyone without power is making do with what they have, in order to survive another extremely cold night.
