League footage shows routine sheep worrying by Scottish hunts
The League Against Cruel Sports says it gives its full support to an amendment tabled by Green MSP John Finnie to the Protection of Livestock (Scotland) Bill. Emma Harper’s Members Bill proposes to increase penalties and provide additional powers to investigate and enforce the offence of livestock worrying.
Mr Finnie’s amendment proposes that hounds used for fox hunting are no longer exempt from legislation as they are currently under the Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953.
The League has released video footage of Scottish hunts regularly causing panic among flocks of sheep at a time when the public is being warned of the dangers of sheep worrying.
