An explosion was heard in Lutterworth town centre today as a gas cylinder exploded during a roof blaze.
It is understood that work was being carried out on the roof above the Coral shop in Bell Street when the fire started just before 10am.

Firefighters went into a burning house to rescue a dog.
Fire crews got the dog to safety after being called by neighbours to the property in Muncaster Close in Broughton Astley at 12.12pm today (May 14).
The fire service were dispatched to the scene after calls from a number of neighbours reporting smoke coming from the roof of the semi-detached house.
