1K COVID vaccine appointments available at Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley clinic

Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley is holding an appointment-only COVID-19 vaccination clinic from Wednesday through Saturday in Bethlehem.
Over four days, 1,000 vaccines will be administered by Rite Aid pharmacists, according to a news release. The clinic at 520 E. Fourth St. on Southside Bethlehem is being hosted by the center, Capital BlueCross, Rite Aid and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
To make an appointment, call the center at 484-635-1341. A volunteer will answer the call or return a voice message within 24 hours, organizers say.
Pennsylvania is currently vaccinating people in Phase 1A and Phase 1B of its vaccine rollout.

Any Pennsylvanian 16 or older will be able to sign up for the coronavirus vaccine on April 19 and many essential workers will become eligible sooner, some as early as Wednesday.
The news of the state’s accelerated vaccination rollout was announced Wednesday just before the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 4,557 new COVID-19 infections and 44 more deaths, bringing the total to 1,024,857 cases and 25,093 lives lost since the virus was first detected last March.
