Double-murder suspect from Wilkes-barre captured in Miami

A Wilkes-Barre man wanted on murder charges in connection with a triple shooting outside a South Main Street bar was captured Friday night in Miami by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, according to the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.
Jayshawn “Times Too” Malik Johnson, 21, last known address of Madison Street, was wanted as a federal fugitive as well as on murder charges alleging he opened fire outside Bo’s on Main at 215 S. Main St. around 11:30 p.m. the night of Jan. 30, killing two people and seriously injuring a third.
A 10-year-old boy was killed in a shooting at an Edwardsville home on Wednesday night, according to the Luzerne County Coronerâs Office.
The child, who was not identified, was shot at a home on Tobin Lane shortly before 9:30 p.m. and was rushed to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy Dr. Gary Ross conducted Thursday determined the boy died of a single gunshot wound.
The manner of death was pending further investigation.
Authorities said they are working to determine whether the shooting was the result of an accidental discharge.
Edwardsville police and the Luzerne County District Attorneyâs Office are investigating the shooting, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit.

Jayshawn âTimes Tooâ Malik Johnson, 21, last known address of Madison St., Wilkes-Barre, is wanted on criminal homicide charges alleging he opened fire outside Boâs on Main at 215 S. Main St. around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, killing two people and seriously injuring a third.
Following the shooting, the city found âsignificantâ code and health violations that have since been corrected, but the owner has chosen to keep the bar closed and put the liquor license in âsafekeeping,â City Administrator Charles McCormick said.
The release said inmate Edgar Gearhart, 24, was found unresponsive around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Correctional officers and medical staff immediately responded to administer life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful, the department said.
Medics responded to the facility and declared Gearhart dead, authorities said.
The cause and manner of death is pending an investigation by the Luzerne County Coronerâs Office.
Gearhart was serving a 10- to 20-year sentence for third-degree murder out of Northumberland County, the department said. He had been at SCI-Dallas since June 2019.
Gearhart stabbed his mother and killed her boyfriend in 2015, according to newspaper archives from The Daily Item in Sunbury.
