Study finds Louisville small businesses not optimistic about quick road to recovery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. After a number of local businesses have closed their doors for good amid the pandemic, businesses are uncertain what the road to recovery looks like. It certainly wont be a seamless recovery, there will definitely be some bumps, Jennifer Rubenstein, Executive Director of the Louisville Independent Business Alliance, said.
A new study from lendingtree.com using U.S. Census Bureau data found of the top 50 metros across the country, Louisville has an even worse outlook of the COVID-19 bounce back than it did in April. It shows business owners believe it ll take more than four months to recover.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. If you haven’t finished your holiday shopping yet - you’re almost out of time, especially if you want to shop online.
Brick and mortar stores aren’t the go-to anymore for holiday shopping. This year more people are turning to e-commerce sites to get presents under the tree.
The National Retail Federation found that 60% of shoppers planned to make their purchases online this year, compared to 56% last year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) The Louisville Independent Business Alliance has launched a new website to make it easier for area residents to shop local online.
The site, ShopLocalLou.com, is sponsored by the Louisville Water Company, according to a news release. The site, will feature dozens of local vendors selling on one site, and customers will be able to purchase from all in a single transaction.
Those purchased items will be available for curbside pickup or delivery. A shipping option will be made available soon.
The shop will offer a number of curated collections, including Locally Crafted, $25 Gifts, and Black Owned Businesses, as well as a way to shop by neighborhood.
